Prayer Through the Generations

My husband and I both come from large families;  he has four brothers and sisters, I have six.  So when the extended family gets together, it’s a crowd with the siblings, spouses, children, grandchildren.  Some are pretty religious, others not.  However, everyone extends my husband, a pastor, the courtesy of praying before the group meal.

I thought I might include the Culler family table grace, which has been handed down through the generations, used at least by Terry’s father and grandfather.

Heavenly Father, thank you for the food you’ve set before us.  Sanctify it to our good.  Feed and nourish us with this bread, which comes from heaven.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

I suspect our granddaughter will think of it as her granddaddy’s prayer.  Do you have a family prayer you would like to share with us?   Or a favorite table grace your family uses?
