I Am Jesus’ Little Lamb

I remember often singing this hymn for children in the car with my daughters when they were small.  Once Kate, our youngest, said to me, “Mommy some kids don’t know they are Jesus’ little lamb.  That touched my hear!  It was the baptismal hymn we chose for out granddaughter, Katelyn. It was written by Henrietta Luise Hayn who was born at Idstein, Nassau, May 22, 1724. In 1746 she was formally received into the Moravian community. She was a gifted hymnwriter whose fervent love of Christ shines forth in her work.  Listen and remember that you, too, are one of Jesus’ lambs.
