Choosing to Start Where You Are

This quote is from a book I’m currently reading, Now and Not Yet by Ruth Chou Simons. A good decision often involves blooming where we are planted, at least for the moment.

“Day by day, step by step, we’re never operating in neutral; we are moving in a direction because of the choices we make each day. Even choosing not to engage or press into your present season — even that choice will affect your trajectory. Ultimately, where you find yourself in a month, a year, a decade from now, starts with the choices you’re making today.

So this is part of our journey together where I want us to roll up our sleeves and get to work where God has us. Because this is what I know: we can believe that God is purposeful right now and even start embracing it, but we won’t experience all God has for us until we actively choose to do something with what he’s already given us, right where we are.”
